Communicable Disease Reporting and Surveillance System

CDRSS TRAINING RESOURCES

CDRSS is a secure system that is only accessible by employees in a public health function after receiving training and completing the required documents. New users requesting general communicable disease access should follow these steps:
1. Click on this link to sign up and access CDRSS training on the SABA/SBX platform.
2. Complete only CDRSS General Communicable Disease Training. All trainings consist of on-demand pre-recorded videos, knowledge checks, and a post-test.
3. Review and agree to the CDRSS user agreement. You may need to allow pop-up windows on your browser to read the user agreement.
4. Complete the new user registration form.
New users will be given access to CDRSS upon completion of the training, user agreement, and registration form.

New users involved in reporting or viewing weekly SIC module data who are requesting access should follow these steps:
1. Click on this link to sign up and access CDRSS training on the SABA/SBX platform.
2. After clicking on the link, you will be redirected to register for the SABA/SBX platform. During registration you will create login credentials to access the trainings. Please note that these credentials are separate and distinct from the credentials that will be issued to you to report your weekly and/or view your school data.
3. Complete one of the following trainings: CDRSS SIC Module K-12 Training or CDRSS SIC Module Local Health Department (LHD) Training. Both trainings consist of on-demand pre-recorded videos, knowledge checks, and a post-test. Please note that you do not need to complete both the SIC K-12 user and SIC LHD trainings.
4. Review and agree to the CDRSS user agreement. You may need to allow pop-up windows on your browser to read the user agreement.
5. Review and agree to the corresponding user guide.
6. Complete the new user registration form.
7. New users will be given access to CDRSS upon completion of the training, user agreement, and registration form. You will receive a certificate of completion indicating that all training requirements have been met.
Within 24-48 hours after completion of the above steps, you will receive an email from the RPT Team (CDS.COV.RPT@doh.nj.gov) with your CDRSS login credentials and instructions for accessing the SIC Module and reporting your data.

*New users to CDRSS (those childhood lead users who have never had a CDRSS account) are required to receive in-person training prior to obtaining access to CDRSS. Nurse Case Managers AND Environmental Inspectors (REHS/LIRA) MUST complete this training. Health Officers may also receive in-person training but may also expedite the process via TEAMS training if the need arises. Laboratory data users are NOT required to take this in-person training. Special accommodations may be made for new users who require access sooner. Please contact the Childhood Lead Program to make these accommodations.
Childhood lead users involved in nurse case management, environmental address investigations, or laboratory data entry, who are requesting access to childhood lead modules in CDRSS, should follow these steps:
1. CLICK ON THIS LINK TO SIGN UP AND ACCESS CDRSS TRAINING ON THE SABA/SBX PLATFORM.
2. After clicking on the link, you will be redirected to register for the SABA/SBX platform. During registration, you will create login credentials to access the trainings. Please note that these credentials are separate and distinct from the credentials that will be issued to you for CDRSS access.
3. After registration, you will land on the SABA/SBX training homepage. At the bottom of the homepage, three childhood lead trainings are available. All trainings consist of user agreement(s), on-demand pre-recorded videos, knowledge checks, and a registration form. You may need to allow pop-up windows on your browser to view the training videos.
  • If you are a childhood lead Nurse Case Manager or a childhood lead Environmental Inspector, AND you are new to CDRSS (have never had a CDRSS account), you MUST complete General Communicable Disease Training FIRST, which is located at the top of the SABA/SBX homepage. Childhood lead laboratory data entry users who are new to CDRSS do NOT need to complete General Communicable Disease Training.
  • Nurse Case Managers should complete Nurse Case Management Training.
  • Environmental Inspectors should complete Environmental Training.
  • Laboratory data entry users should complete Laboratory Data Entry Training.
  • Health Officers should complete BOTH Nurse Case Management Training AND Environmental Training; if NEW to CDRSS, Health Officers also need to complete General Communicable Disease Training FIRST.

  • 4. Once an entire training is complete, you will receive an email notifying you that you have earned a training certification. If only one training is required for your role, you are finished. If your role requires more than one training, continue to the next training by navigating back to the SABA/SBX homepage.
    5. Within two business days, you will receive confirmation from the CDRSS training team that you have been given access to childhood lead in CDRSS; if new to CDRSS, your CDRSS login credentials will be provided in that email as well. Please note: If you are a Nurse Case Manager or Environmental Inspector who has never had access to CDRSS before, and if you do NOT complete General Communicable Disease Training before completing childhood lead trainings, you will NOT be given access to CDRSS. Instead, you will be contacted to request that you complete the General Communicable Disease Training.
